25.2.2012: "Clowns without borders" - German Centre hosts event for children of the "Sunshine project"
The German Centre Delhi.Gurgaon is happy to host “Clowns without borders” (CWB). The audience will be approx. 120 children of the “Sunshine project” New Delhi.
CWB is a non-profit organisation which is dedicated to improve the situation of children who live in crisis situations of whatever type (armed conflict, natural disaster, social injustice, etc.) in whatever part of the world.
Recent trips of the CWB to Romania, Sri Lanka and Georgia have shown how important and rewarding it is to put a smile on the faces of poor, traumatised and injured children and to take them to a place free from misery and worries, even if it's just for the 2 hours of the show. In many cases the effects of such a therapy are truly amazing. CWB fund themselves mainly by way of donations and membership fees. The clowns are amateur artists who are professionally trained and who spend much of their private time (holidays) and personal funds to pursue their goal. Needless to say that CWB offer their services free of charge.
